Landscapes and Dreamscapes
Jamie Tara’s life-long nature connection is evident in her oil paintings. She is inspired by vast, open landscapes and a view to the horizon, that distant place where sky and earth convene. With precisely mixed colors to capture light-drenched skies and the fleeting nature of clouds, her paintings bring the beauty of the natural world indoors. Her meticulously crafted "dreamscape" collages evoke themes of magical realism, the subjectivity of time, and the interconnection of all things.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, Jamie Tara is an art educator residing in Boston. She holds a BFA from Ithaca College and an MA in Art and Design Education from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She exhibits regionally in shows around New England and beyond.
